CNL Sustainability Report – 2025

On behalf of the CNL Sustainability Office, we are pleased to announce the public release of our 2024-25 Sustainability Report, which reflects the concrete steps taken to embed sustainability across our operations. We invite you to read the press release and full report and executive summary on our website:

This year marks an important milestone with the establishment of our dedicated Sustainability Office; a center of expertise created to guide sustainability initiatives across CNL sites.

The report highlights significant achievements, including:

  • 53% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions at Chalk River Laboratories since 2005
  • 91% diversion of conventional waste and 95% diversion of construction and demolition waste from landfill
  • Surpassing procurement targets with Indigenous suppliers, creating meaningful economic opportunities
  • Advancing cancer treatment innovation through Actinium-225 production with partners

These efforts demonstrate our commitment to environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and good governance—while supporting Canada’s clean energy priorities and fostering collaboration with organizations like yours.
